I’m pretty sure I have the best job on the planet. OK, I did have to work “late” yesterday. Technically, we were out until about 8:15 or so. But let’s talk about the “out” part. We spent part one of our session at Boothe Park. And it was perfect: evening light, cool old buildings, and even that idyllic summer breeze - just enough to take the edge off of the humidity. Then we made our way south to Short Beach for a spectacular sunset, sand in our toes, and long island sound scenery. But wait… It gets better. Let’s talk about the “we” part now. First, I had a super assistant, Karissa (one of our fab Model Reps). It was great having her along - not only is she very capable (and she can carry the heavy stuff too), but she can sympathize with my subjects when I ask them to stand or sit in a spot that looks like it might contain something that could give you the swine flu because she’s probably been there! Next, there was Jenine. I was going to say that Jenine is one of those “cool” moms (and she is!) but as an overall characterization, I think cool comes up a little short. Genuine is a better fit. It was her relaxed and positive demeanor that set the tone for the session from the minute it started. And last, but certainly not least, there was Kayla. Now, I could write an awful lot about how much fun it was to work with Kayla. But if the cliche holds true and a picture is worth a thousand words, then here is my two thousand word statement about the amazing time I had photographing Kayla.
